I've read this book quite a few times and always have to have a box of tissue nearby. I've found it thought provoking, humorous and heart warming. It's also enriched my life. I'd like to know what others think of the book who've read it.

I have recently read this book and I found it to be very evocative and heartwarming. In my opinion he writes straight from the heart, his honesty is refreshing.
The way he intertwines his past from growing up, his first love, to his fathers death and combining those experiences with the dramatic birth of his first son George is very deeply moving. The birth of his child brought out all kinds of emotions such as him dealing for the first time, the death of his father, crying with tears of joy and letting his father go.
I always have a box of tissues at hand when I read this book. It must have been hard for Dirk to write about all of this and I'm glad he shared it. It makes me feel like I know him better than just him being cute and a great actor. This book has gave me a new perspective on life and the true meaning of love and family.
Thanks Dirk.
